Mcaster1Studio
One platform. Every broadcast. Radio stations, podcasters, churches, DJs, content creators, corporate streamers — all running from the same powerhouse, each with a purpose-built workspace tuned to their world.
A Paradigm Shift in Broadcast Software
For decades, every broadcast vertical has had its own siloed software. Radio automation tools that can't podcast. Church presentation software that can't stream. DJ software that can't encode. Podcast editors that can't go live. Mcaster1Studio ends that era.
One application. Nine purpose-built surfaces. Forty-two modules. Every vertical gets a workspace designed specifically for how they work — and they all share the same broadcast-grade engine underneath. Switch surfaces. Mix workflows. No compromises.
Nine Surfaces. Nine Workflows. One App.
Each surface is a complete, purpose-built workspace loaded with exactly the modules that vertical needs. Switch between them instantly. Run multiple simultaneously with full ON AIR / OFF AIR isolation.
Your main and backup radio surfaces. Dual-deck player with waveform, crossfader and EQ. AutoDJ with clock-based scheduling. Seven-codec encoder streaming live to Mcaster1DNAS or Icecast2. Real-time VU metering. Full ICY 2.2 metadata with 70+ fields. This is radio automation done right.
A full podcast studio in software. Six-channel hardware-style mixer. Multi-track recorder. Non-destructive waveform editor with filler word detection. Speech-to-text transcription. RSS feed generation with Apple Podcasts compliance. Publish to DNAS, Icecast2, SFTP, or HTTP. Remote guests via WebRTC. Analytics dashboard. Sixteen modules built for podcasters who are serious about their craft.
Everything a house of worship needs in one surface. Song lyrics with arrangement editor and live transport. Scripture lookup across 66 books and 6 translations. Announcement slides. Teleprompter. Video switching with cut, dissolve, and fade-to-black transitions. Stage monitor display. Eight-channel audio mixer. Sermon recording with transcript export. Service rundown orchestration with 11 segment types. Seventeen modules purpose-built for worship teams.
Dual decks with crossfader and 3-band EQ. A full effects rack with Sonic Enhancer, 31-band EQ, and multi-band compressor. Media library with drag-to-deck. VU metering. Everything a DJ needs to mix, blend, and perform live — then encode and stream the set in real time.
Video playout with playlist management and live encoding. Built for TV shows, live event production, and video-first content creators who need broadcast-grade automation behind the scenes.
Corporate streaming with playlist management, encoding, metadata control, and server monitoring. Per-surface database isolation means compliance and license separation of concerns are built in from the ground up.
Pick exactly the modules you need. Start from scratch, build a workspace that fits your unique workflow, and save it. If the nine built-in surfaces don't cover your use case, the Custom surface will.
What Powers the Studio
Under every surface sits a broadcast-grade audio engine, a seven-codec streaming encoder, a professional effects rack, and an AI-ready architecture — all tuned for zero-glitch real-time performance.
Dual-Deck Player
Two full-featured audio decks with waveform display, crossfader, and 3-band EQ. Drag tracks from your media library straight to a deck and mix live. Cart Wall for instant hot-start audio pads.
7-Codec Encoder
MP3, Opus, Vorbis, FLAC, AAC-LC, HE-AAC v1, and HE-AAC v2. Each encoder slot has its own DSP chain with 10-band EQ, AGC, and limiter. Stream to Mcaster1DNAS, Icecast2, or Shoutcast simultaneously.
DSP Effects Rack
Professional processing chain: Sonic Maximizer for loudness enhancement, 31-band parametric EQ, multi-band compressor/limiter, mic preamp, stereo width control, and DBX-style AGC. Six built-in rack units with more in development.
AI Integration
Speech-to-text transcription with speaker diarization. Filler word detection in the podcast editor. AI-ready architecture across the platform with hooks for intelligent automation, content analysis, and workflow optimization.
5 Database Backends
SQLite for single-station simplicity. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, or SQL Server for enterprise scale. Each surface can connect to its own database for redundancy, compliance, and license separation of concerns.
ICY 2.2 Metadata
Over 70 metadata fields across 8 groups — station, show, track, DJ, social, podcast, broadcast, and content flags. Full ICY 2.2 support for Mcaster1DNAS plus backwards-compatible ICY 1.x for legacy servers.
Server Monitor & Stats
Live polling of Icecast2, Shoutcast, and Mcaster1DNAS servers. Listener counts, stream health, and performance metrics charted in real-time graphs. Know exactly what's happening with your broadcast at all times.
Plugin SDK
Extend the Studio with your own modules and effects. DLL-based plugin system with a clean C ABI. Build custom modules that appear as dockable panels, or create DSP effects that slot into the rack. Sample code and full developer guide included.
The Effects Rack
Six broadcast-grade DSP processors. Stack them, configure them, and apply them per-encoder slot or across your entire chain.
Built for Real-Time Performance
Every architectural decision in Mcaster1Studio was made with one priority: never drop a frame, never glitch the audio, never interrupt the broadcast.
The Mcaster1 Ecosystem
Mcaster1Studio is the control center. The rest of the stack handles everything else.
| Product | Role in the Stack |
|---|---|
| Mcaster1Studio | The broadcast automation suite — plays, mixes, encodes, monitors, and manages everything (this product) |
| Mcaster1DNAS | Streaming server — delivers your broadcast to listeners with ICY 2.2 metadata |
| Mcaster1DSPEncoder | Standalone encoder — when you need encoding without the full studio |
| Mcaster1AudioPipe | Virtual audio routing — invisible cables between any apps on your system |
| Mcaster1AMP | Desktop media player — standalone playback with AudioPipe integration |
| Mcaster1 TagStack | Metadata composer — ICY 2.2 metadata editing and library management |
